# Odd Numbers (Integers)

Number (integer) is **odd** if it is NOT divisible by 2.

Alternatively, number is odd if it is not even.

**Example 1**. Determine whether 24 is odd number.

24 is even because `24/2=12` and 12 is integer number. Thus, 24 is not odd number.

Another example.

**Example 2**. Determine whether 17 is odd.

17 is not even, because `17=2*8+1` and remainder is not 0. So, 17 is odd number.

Now, do a couple of exercises.

**Exercise 1**. Determine whether 49 is odd number.

49 is not even, because `49=2*24+1` and remainder is not 0. So, 49 is odd number.

Another exercise.

**Exercise 2**. Determine whether 112 is even.

112 is even because `112/2=56` and 56 is integer number. Thus, 112 is not odd number.
